So its a race between development of developed and germination of backwards. No your model of development is not good because you are not secular. I think Nitish kumar is not the one who feel smug about 50000+ people in his rally because he knows very well that in the capital even a small road protest can win thousands of supporters. Now it is the time when many of political analyst say that the ball is in Nitish's court. Some of them often say that for BJP , there cannot even be a beginning for 2014 campaign without Nitish.
But we should not put our eyes off from the other side of the coin. I will say nitish is playing with twos instead of aces. Some of the analyst say that the best of Nitish is over. The appreciation he got in his first term due to improved law and order condition is now faded by demand of jobs and economic development.
People have started getting frustrated which may present RJD-Cong as an better option in bihar. If be forget about future and look only in past then it is also not black for BJP. In 2010 election Nitish's headed JD(U) conquered on 115 seats out of 141 seat contested while BJP won 91 seats out of 102. BJP enhanced its control in bihar by an increment of 36 seats while JD (U) won 27 more seats in 2010 elections. Now do your math can get a clear picture of the drama. So if Nitish want to continue ruling his state he cant even think of leaving BJP and its very clear Nitish has nothing but only bihar.
But now the question is that after knowing all the facts what is the meaning of the daily drama. The fact is that what Nitish can do in present condition when BJP has almost started to think about Modi. He can only make BJP not to forget him. He just want to use all his power to prevent BJP from declaring Modi as a PM candidate because he knows very well that once modi will be declared he wont be able to do anything without harming himself. It will be a completely lose-lose condition for Nitish after that. If he supports Modi then he is going to lose most of his muslim votes who accounts for almost 17% of total bihar population and if pulls his hands out of NDA he will be in a big trouble in 2015 bihar election which are also not far away.
So Modi may need Nitish in the present condition but the day is not so far when Nitish is going to need Modi badly.
